Sydney City

In April 2018 Vivacity moved from Newcastle to Sydney, where we are now able to offer more extensive services to the training industry, so the obvious place to hold our 10th Anniversary Conference is in Sydney.

The City of Sydney local area covers approximately 26.15 square kilometres, within the Sydney metropolitan region. Over the past decade the City has become the largest and fastest growing local government area in all of NSW.

Sydney dazzles day or night, with great theatre, wonderful museums and delicious delights. The Sydney Opera House is the jewel on sparkling Sydney Harbour. In the heart of this vibrant city are many hidden gems too, such as Forgotten Songs, an artwork canopy of 120 birdcages in Angel Place.

Explore cobblestone lanes and other heritage in The Rocks. Australia’s oldest pubs are here and the Argyle Stairs lead to Cumberland Street for access to the free Sydney Harbour Bridge walk, or a BridgeClimb tour to the top of the mighty steel arch, nicknamed the Coathanger by Sydneysiders.

Next to the Sydney Opera House is the Royal Botanic Garden, a tranquil oasis with a free daily tour and intriguing exhibitions in the Calyx. You can walk through the lovely garden to Mrs Macquaries Point for spectacular views of the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and the deep blue harbour.

Ferries depart from Circular Quay for destinations dotted around one of the most beautiful natural harbours in the world. Or stroll through the historic Rocks and under the bridge to Walsh Bay – home to a theatre on a heritage wharf – and then around to Barangaroo’s harbourside parkland.

Amid the gleaming towers in Barangaroo South is the imaginatively designed Barangaroo House – three levels of enticing places to eat and drink. Along the waterfront are more restaurants and Darling Harbour, where you’ll meet penguins, dugongs and sharks in the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium.

A short walk away is the bustling city centre, a shopping paradise of elegant boutiques, department stores and enticing fashion malls. The palatial Queen Victoria Building and the stylish Strand Arcade are two beautifully restored colonial arcades where you’ll be delightfully surprised on every level.

From evocative art to blockbuster musicals, checkout the ever-changing events calendar. Reserve your tickets for musicals at the Sydney Lyric in Pyrmont, the Capitol Theatre near Chinatown and other venues. The Art Gallery of NSW and the Museum of Contemporary Art are fine public galleries.

The epitome of Art Deco architecture is the ANZAC Memorial in Hyde Park, near Museum Station and the Australian Museum. For more splendid Art Deco buildings as well as outdoor dining on one of the longest timber wharves in the world, visit charming Potts Point and Woolloomooloo.

Conference Venue – Kirribilli Club

The Kirribilli Ex-Servicemen’s Club was founded in 1946 by the Kirribilli Ex-Servicemen’s Sub Branch which was given its charter in 1943. It was founded with the purpose of being a community club serving Australian Defence Force personnel and their families local to the Kirribilli / Milsons Point area. Its initial location was on the corner of Alfred and Glen Street, Milsons Point but the Club was relocated to Cliff Street in 1967. The aging Cliff St venue was demolished in 2005, and closed for approx. 3 years in order to make way for a new modern venue, reopening in 2007 in its current form at 11 Harbourview Crescent, Lavender Bay.

The Kirribilli Ex-Service Club is a community focused Club with over 18,000 members with a proud history and a strong emphasis on providing quality customer service and facilities to its broad membership and customer base. Kirribilli Ex-Services Club (Kirribilli Club) and Kirribilli RSL Sub-branch both recognise the importance of maintaining the ANZAC tradition in the local North Sydney area and significant focus is placed on both the annual Commemoration Sunday Service in April and Remembrance Day in November.

The Kirribilli Club offers a premium bar, Dedes Watergrill restaurant, sports bar and lounge with multiple large format screens, premium TAB, gaming lounge, Sunset Cafe as well as state of the art conference and function facilities suitable for all needs. The club operates across three levels with limited underground parking facilities for both members and guests with disability access for those with restricted access requirements.

Located in leafy Lavender Bay just 5 minutes stroll from Milsons Point train station, the Kirribilli Club has two levels of parking and a courtesy bus for members and guests.

The car park is a ticket in and ticket out, so all you need to do is press the button on your way in and a ticket will be printed, and the boom gate will open. Keep your ticket with you, and please be sure to pay and have it validated at Reception before leaving the Club. Casual parking is not permitted at any time.

Chris Green, c2cGlobal

Chris Green is the Founder and CEO of c2cglobal Pty Ltd, which he started 20 plus years ago. In that time c2cglobal has moved from a general commercial fit out company to a highly specialist consulting firm delivering 9b and building compliance specifically to the Education Sector.    After focusing on providing fit outs to the education sector, it soon became clear that the education sector is unique in it’s building compliance requirements. It also became clear that unless you have an in-depth understanding of all the restrictions and timing issues imposed by the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and other education regulators (ASQA, TEQSA), it is almost impossible to effectively deliver solutions to the problems facing education providers.    So c2cglobal’s philosophy was to move from a “generalist” fit out company to a “specialist” consulting firm with the ability to identify key problems for one specific industry, Education, and provide very real solutions to very real problems that add massive value to clients.

 Lauren Hollows, Understand TAE

After starting out as a qualified Primary School Teacher, I moved into a small private RTO working closely with the owner and growing the student base from 50 to over 400 students, while working as a curriculum developer, trainer, administrator and more.  Over the last 9 years I have worked as a consultant, CEO, Quality Manager, Operations Manager, Business Development Manager and a range of other roles overseeing compliance and operations for ELICOS, CRICOS, domestic fee for service and traineeship funding. Whether small or large, private or public, there are a few key factors for success; understanding the needs of your learners and delivering above the standard, and being willing to invest and develop your staff.

My passion is developing new trainers and VET Practitioners and working to help to develop RTO staff to increase organisational capacity and capability. I believe that there is great capacity for the VET sector to return to their position as a world class quality education provider, but this hinges on having world class trainer and assessors. I have taken all my experience, as well as the experiences of some my closest colleagues and the feedback and pain from RTO owners, training managers and trainer and assessors and am incredibly proud to have developed the Trainer Development System as a response to one of the major current needs we see in VET. Please take the time to read through the website and give us a call or provide us with some feedback as to what you need.

Reasons for sponsoring the Conference?

We have built a network of clients from all over Australia, who have struggled with managing the balance between compliance and business success, we have identified that their main weaknesses are lack of skills and knowledge of what is available to support them in their industry.

In order to address this, we want to provide a platform for our clients to learn more about the products and services that will support them in running their business, this includes having exhibitors at our conference who:

  • Are willing to demonstrate their products and/or services directly to our clients
  • Want to provide information that will support our industry
  • Are wanting to network with our delegates and learn more about what their needs are
  • Want to speak to business owners and managers, who are the decision makers of the RTO, about their products/services

We have a range of people who will be attending our conference, they include:

  • Business owners who are new to the industry
  • Management and staff of RTO’s who want to learn more about what is available to the RTO sector
